The Milesight WS301 door and window opening sensorisan intelligent sensorusedto monitor the opening or closing statusof moving elements in buildings. Its main task is to detect and inform about changes in the position of the door or window, alerting the user about it. Moreover, thanks to integration with smart home systems, the sensorcan support building automation, for example by controlling lighting, heating or air conditioning depending on the opening/closing state of a window or door. To connect the sensor, you needa LoRaWAN control panelor at least two devices supporting the innovativeMilesight D2D protocol, which involves direct communication between the agent device and the control device. The configuration of thissmart homeelement is done usingthe NFC protocol, which involves touching a smartphone supporting this protocol to the sensor. Wireless connection of the device with other systems enables easy installation and integration with various solutions in homes and offices.

The main function of the Milesight sensor isto monitor the open or closed status of doors, windows or other moving surfaces. Thanks to this, it can inform the user about changes in this state, which is especially important in security systems or home automation. The sensor responds when two of its elements – the sensor and the magnet – are separated or brought closer together within a certain distance range, which indicates the opening or closing of the monitored surface.
Milesight D2D
Milesight D2D is a modern communication protocol thatenables direct connectivity between devices without the need to use a LoRaWAN network gateway. However, to use the functions of this protocol, at least two devices are needed – one control device, sending commands and requests to other devices and one agent device that receives and responds to these requests. LoRaWAN communication protocol
LoRaWAN is a global communication standard for IoT networks, based on LoRa technology, which is characterized by a long range. Thanks to this protocol, devices can communicate with network gateways over a distance of several kilometers in urban environments and up to several dozen kilometers in rural areas. At the same time, LoRaWAN-based devices are known for their low power consumption, making them an ideal choice for applications where batteries need to function for years without the need for recharging.
